The journey of healthcare innovation at APIIC is driven by the need to bridge the gap between laboratory research and clinical practice. We believe that the most impactful solutions emerge when clinicians, researchers, and engineers collaborate to solve real-world medical challenges, ensuring every idea has a path to clinical validation and societal impact. The Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, launched the NIDHI – Inclusive Technology Business Incubator (i-TBI) program to create world-class incubation facilities across the country. This initiative is designed to nurture startups, promote translational research, and provide critical support such as mentoring, prototyping infrastructure, and funding access—helping innovators turn their concepts into market-ready solutions. As an Institute of National Importance, AIIMS Patna is at the forefront of healthcare delivery, education, and research. With its state-of-the-art facilities, multidisciplinary expertise, and a diverse patient base, AIIMS Patna serves as an ideal ecosystem for clinical validation, innovation testing, and knowledge-driven entrepreneurship. In line with this vision, the AIIMS Patna Incubation & Innovation Council (APIIC) was established in under the DST–NIDHI i-TBI program. APIIC is dedicated to advancing medical and healthcare-focused startups with a strong emphasis on affordable medical devices, digital health solutions, and biomedical technologies. By offering mentoring from AIIMS clinicians, access to cutting-edge labs, networking with industry and investors, and funding support, APIIC is shaping a vibrant healthcare innovation hub. Its mission is to build sustainable, socially relevant, and clinically validated solutions that not only transform patient care but also strengthen India's self-reliance in medical technologies.
