IIM Calcutta Innovation Park (IIMCIP) is India’s leading, impact-first startup incubator, nurturing enterprises that create economic opportunity, livelihoods and meaningful social impact. It is a not-for-profit Section 8 company established in 2014 under the aegis of the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, focussed on building an impact-driven, inclusive startup ecosystem and bridging the gaps in underserved regions. IIMCIP works closely with government agencies and initiatives, including the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM) and the North Eastern Council (NEC); state governments; and leading corporates such as Tata Sons, Pernod Ricard India Foundation, Balmer Lawrie, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., and IDFC FIRST Bank to deliver end-to-end support for their startup initiatives, grants, CSR and ESG goals. Additionally, with deep on-the-ground experience in rural entrepreneurship and women-led enterprise development, IIMCIP has built a distinctive track record of enabling women entrepreneurs to turn local knowledge, traditional skills and grassroots opportunities into sustainable enterprises and livelihoods. Backed by the IIM Calcutta ecosystem and a network of 150+ mentors, 50+ investors and 20+ corporate partners, IIMCIP has supported 2,000+ enterprises, provided seed funding to 136 ventures and enabled the portfolio companies to collectively raise ₹2,000+ crore, with an aggregate portfolio valuation of ₹7,000+ crore. Together, these ventures have created 30,000+ jobs and positively impacted more than 10.5 million lives. By 2047, IIMCIP aspires to become a social unicorn, positively impacting 1 billion lives through innovation and entrepreneurship.
