The part that starts after the money leaves

Most of an investment's life happens after the deal closes, and it is the part least likely to be in a system. This holds the valuations, the follow-ons, the marks and the exits - and gets the numbers out of founders without a quarterly email round.

A position has a history, not a status

A holding is rarely just 'active'. It gets marked up, or marked down. It takes a follow-on. Part of it gets sold. Eventually it exits, or it does not.

Each of those is a distinct state here rather than a note in a cell: active, follow-on, marked up, marked down, partially exited, exited, written off. Valuation snapshots are kept over time, so the question 'what did we think this was worth eighteen months ago' has an answer that is not a guess.

Seven portfolio states

Active, follow-on, marked up, marked down, partially exited, exited, written off - recorded, not inferred.

Valuations over time

Snapshots rather than a single current number, so the trajectory is visible.

Follow-on rounds attached

A second cheque into the same company is part of that position's record.

Getting numbers out of founders without the quarterly chase

The reason portfolio data goes stale is not that founders refuse. It is that the request is an email, the answer is an email, and neither is anywhere useful afterwards.

Here a metric request is a request: it goes to the founder, it carries a state, and the answer lands as a snapshot against the company. You can see who has answered and who has not without reading your sent folder - which is the difference between reporting and remembering to ask.

  • Metric requests with a state, so outstanding is visible
  • Answers stored as snapshots against the company, not as replies
  • Founders answer in the same place they already keep the company record

One company record, both sides of the cheque

The company in your portfolio is the same record the founder maintains, the same one the incubator evaluated, and the same one a candidate sees when they apply for a job there. Nobody is retyping it into a fourth place for you.

That is the argument for the whole platform, and portfolio is where it pays off most obviously: the data you are asking for is data the company is already keeping.

Questions people actually ask

Can we track valuations over time, not just the latest one?

Yes. Valuation snapshots are kept, so you can see what a position was carried at previously rather than only its current mark.

How do we get updated metrics from founders?

You send a metric request. It carries a state, so you can see who has answered and who has not, and the answer is stored as a snapshot against the company rather than sitting in an email thread.

Does it handle exits and write-offs?

Yes. A position can be marked up or down, take a follow-on, partially exit, fully exit or be written off, and each is a recorded state rather than a note.

Does it produce LP reports?

No. There is no LP reporting, no capital-call handling and no fund administration. What it holds is the portfolio itself - positions, valuations, follow-ons, exits and the metrics behind them.

See it with a position you already hold

Bring a company from your portfolio, with whatever history it has. We will put the valuations, the follow-ons and the metric requests where they belong and you can judge whether it is better than the sheet.
