Mentor Portal

Running the Session

Sessions run in a built-in video room reached from the booking itself. There is no link to send, no meeting to schedule elsewhere, and no separate account to set up.

What you will learn

  • How to join, and where the room lives
  • What to do in the minutes before a session
  • How to handle a mentee who does not turn up
  • What to record afterwards

Joining#

Every confirmed session carries its own room. You open the booking and join from there - the same room the mentee joins, so there is nothing to coordinate.

Upcoming sessions on the dashboard is the fastest way in on the day.
  1. 1

    Open the session from Bookings

Confirmed sessions in the near future are also on your dashboard under Upcoming.

  2. 2

    Join the room

The room opens in the platform. Check camera and microphone before the mentee arrives rather than during.

  3. 3

    Run the session

The agenda and any pre-session notes the mentee wrote are attached to the booking - read them before you join, not while they are watching.

Before you join#

  • Read the agenda and pre-session notes on the booking
  • Check the duration - a 30-minute intro is a different conversation from a 90-minute review
  • Have somewhere to take notes; you will need them to close the session out

The pre-session notes are the brief

Mentees write context they would be embarrassed to say out loud - real revenue, real burn, what they are actually worried about. Reading it beforehand is most of the difference between a useful hour and a discovery call.

If they do not turn up#

Wait a reasonable time - ten to fifteen minutes is the convention - then leave and mark the session as a no-show from the booking. Recording it matters: it is the record behind any refund discussion and it keeps your completion stats accurate.

Careful

Do not simply leave the session open. An unclosed session never becomes an earning and never leaves your active list.

Afterwards#

  1. 1

    Mark it complete

This is what turns the session into an earning.

  2. 2

    Write your notes

What you agreed, what they are going to do, and by when. The mentee sees these, and for many of them it is the artefact they keep.

You can run the conversation anywhere you both agree, but the session still has to be confirmed and completed in the portal - that is what schedules it, holds the slot and settles the money.

Recording is available from the room rather than automatic. Tell the mentee before you start it.

Sessions can be extended from the room. If you regularly run over, the honest fix is a longer session type rather than habitual overrun.
